Hypnotism
has been successfully used as a Complementary Alternative Therapy for the
treatment of such mental, emotional and psychological disorders which had
remained incurable under the modern medicinal system. The system works deep
down at the level of the sub-conscious or even unconscious states of mind
of the patient. The patient once brought into the hypnotic stage becomes
much more open to suggestions and advices which are generally used as correctives
to alter the records of certain notions which are the latent cause of the
trouble.
The
Working of Hypnosis can be explained as -
The first stage
starts with making a patient comfortable and calm in a serene surrounding.
The patient is
them made to concentrate either on an object or directly on the practitioner.
Slowly and softly
the patient is brought to a stage of conscious slumber where the body and
the conscious mind is put to sleep but the subconscious and unconscious
mind is put to alert.
The practitioner
tries to find out the root cause of the ailment which the patient suffers
from. Travelling down the memory lane to discover some incident or fond
record or actual happening which has effected the general psyche of the
person.
In this stage,
which is free from the obstacles imposed by critical reasoning of the mind,
a person is highly receptive to any advice, suggestions or even orders given.
These suggestions are here, at this time, specifically used to do the repair
from within. A patient's memory may be altered to redeem him from specific
phobias and fears which would otherwise surface out as of known and ground
less origin.
During such an
exercise the unconscious mind is receptive, open and even critical, it can
differentiate between a real and imaginary situation but would act upon
the real and the imaginary as alike, the difference does not matter here.
The patient is
then put back to his former stage slowly with his conscious brain once again
activated. He or she may not even remember or recall the happenings of this
short duration of hypnosis and may not be consciously aware of the treatment
done.
Sometimes it is
during the hypnosis that the patients are instructed to forget all the proceedings,
a memory of which into the conscious mind would be an obstacle in the treatment.
In other cases it is imperative that a patient must know as to what was
wrong with him.
A variant to an
'other induced hypnosis' can be 'self-hypnosis'. Here a person would travel
down into his own unconscious mind without any external assistance and would
do the corrective measures himself. The M.M.S. course would deal in detail
and would also teach self-hypnosis.
Hypnosis has a
definite edge over other branches of medical sciences as far as the diagnosis
of a disease is concerned.
Where many of
the medical sciences would treat a disease superficially, hypnosis would
go deep down and cure exactly where it is required.
It is much more
effective for the common day ailments of stress induced pains and diseases
and mental disorders.
It is less time
consuming and can often be had as a one shot treatment.
Hypnosis does
not have any side effects as there are no chemicals or drugs used.
It is an internal
cleansing without surgery.
In what ailments it is
beneficial:
Stress and stress induced symptoms
Nausea
For curing addictions
Treatment of pain
from wounds, cuts, burns, ulcers and malignancies.
Hypnosis can reduce
the usage of pain killing drugs.
Cure of phobias
and fears with apparently no roots.

Various other diseases which are directly related to mental, emotional and
psychological disorders can be treated with the application of hypnosis.

hypnosis practitioners but for which there is no conclusive evidence. These
diseases are:-
